Courtney Marecki is a Lead Research Scientist in the Pravetoni Lab at the University of Washington. Before transitioning into full-time research, she spent a decade as a chemistry educator, teaching high school and college-level courses where she developed a talent for breaking down complex scientific ideas into clear, engaging lessons. She holds dual master’s degrees in Analytical Chemistry and Education from the University of South Florida.
At the Pravetoni Lab, Courtney leads mass spectrometry method development, vaccine conjugation chemistry, and analytical workflows that support the creation of immunotherapies targeting emerging synthetic opioids. She also manages several research projects, coordinating timelines, budgets, procurement processes, and multi-site collaborations.
Outside the lab, Courtney is an avid reader, a lifelong gamer, and someone who values time with family above all else. She enjoys relaxing evenings spent playing story-driven video games, diving into new books, and making memories with her husband and daughter.
